Alphabet reports earnings after the bell today

As the first major AI hyperscaler to post numbers this quarter, the report serves as a major market litmus test for AI investors.

Long-term investors holding AI infrastructure assets do not need to worry. The structural buildout is not slowing down anytime soon.

Even so, short-term price action could get interesting.

Heavy capital spending often spooks near-term traders. If management leans heavily into aggressive infrastructure outlays, the stock could face immediate friction.

That temporary friction can act as a catalyst for everything else.

A heavy spend by a market leader reassures the supply chain. It signals that demand remains entirely real.

The rest of the market catches a bid off that confidence including memory companies such as Micron and SK Hynex which have been extremely volatile lately.
