All news across AI sector.

Wow, it’s been a busy morning digesting all the news across AI sector.

Over the past twenty-four hours, a massive wave of hardware deployments, model releases, and silicon developments highlighted exactly how fast the computing landscape is moving.

👏 A big win for my hometown of beautiful Alberta with Meta announcing a CAD $13B investment to construct its first data center in Canada, a massive 1-gigawatt facility in Sturgeon County, just north of Edmonton.

And even better, the data center will be powered by natural gas utilizing closed-loop liquid cooling systems and relying on direct outside air cooling so will not use any more water then a typical golf course.

🟢 Additionally, Bank of America added Meta to its US 1 List of top buy-rated ideas just as reports surfaced that the company is planning September 2026 manufacturing for its proprietary Iris AI chip alongside the development of audio-capturing smart glasses. Zuckerberg is relentless!

⚡ Across the pond, Cerebras Systems is expanding into Europe to ease the regional computing bottleneck, announcing plans to deploy 200MW of AI compute capacity across France, Norway, and Finland by the end of 2027. With its first European nodes coming online later this year, this infrastructure will directly support massive cloud workloads, including inference demands for OpenAI.

📰 While the physical grid expands, the software layer is moving toward cheaper, faster, and more conversational execution. OpenAI launched GPT Live, which allows real-time, interruptible voice conversations that move away from traditional turn-based software delays.

The pipeline for the coming weeks indicates this pace is structural rather than temporary. OpenAI is prepared to launch GPT-5.6, encompassing its Sol and Sol Ultra variants, followed closely by the anticipated mid-July release of Google’s Gemini 3.5 Pro.

xAI released Grok 4.5, prioritizing a significant reduction in cost and latency, while ByteDance unveiled its Seedream 5 Pro image generation model, aiming to deliver top-tier editing capabilities at a fraction of the market’s current operating costs.
