IoD Scotland – International Week 2017
During the week of October 9th, International Week will be held at our prestigious offices in Charlotte Square, Edinburgh. The week, held in partnership with Scottish Business Network, will comprise a celebration of Scotland’s International links and a sharing of information on how best Scottish companies can successfully win new business beyond the Scottish border.
Each day will focus on various countries promoting Scottish ties, understanding the business landscape and most importantly sharing opportunities. We will hear from world class Scottish business leaders sharing their own, invaluable, personal experience of what works and what to avoid when building an international business. Scottish Business Network will provide access to their members across the globe who have volunteered to provide assistance to attendees during the week.
This is the first year that International Week will be held in Scotland and we have attracted a range of leading Scottish business figures and successful international entrepreneurs.

The awards, organised to recognise the achievements of Scottish Asian men and women in business. Yasmin Mahmood, operations director for event organiser Oceanic Consulting, said: “Each year this event has gone from strength to strength. This year we have seen many new faces in business as well as young entrepreneurs pushing through to battle it out. We have some truly worthy winners and finalists and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.”
Ian Collins, area director at awards sponsor Bank of Scotland, said: “Last night saw some truly inspiring winners, and we want to congratulate all of those nominated.”
It is always an excellent night for us to celebrate the business success and business acumen of the Asian community in Scotland. The venue of the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow, was superb and because of this the excellent atmosphere made for a wonderful evening.
We are proud and delighted to have so many clients who are eligible for these awards. As a consequence, we wanted to give something back to our clients and their colleagues and acquaintances. Our thanks are to Nasir and Najif Jaffri for taking us to the event in 2016. The evening was topped off by the success of one of our clients in winning Business of the Year.
